Hi, I am trying to get a hosted network system with a Wi-Fi dongle to work in Windows Server 2012 Essentials. When I setup hosted network using netsh commands on a windows 8 machine the networks creates fine and in "Network and sharing" I can see the new virtual network adapter with my chosen SSID in grey text. All of my devices work perfectly with setup. However when I move the dongle to the windows sever machine and execute the same commands, the network adapter is created but the domain of the server is shown in grey text instead of the SSID. When I try and connect to the network with another device I cannot as it never obtains an IP.
I would guess this may be something to due with the windows 8 machine not being on a domain and the server being on one?
