Hello,
My work has 802.1x wireless connections and it works for over 100 users. I have just a few win 7 laptops x64 enterprise that seems to not function like the rest. One is brand new Dell only 3 days old freshly imaged.
I have exported the wireless profile with netsh so I know its exactly the same as the rest with the single sign on before login checked. I manually added the profile as well but when I log off/reboot windows doesn't even attempt to connect to wireless first. Normally I would see a new line right under the domain saying windows will attempt to connect to "SSID" before login but these few do not. As if I did not configured the wireless profile correctly. Once logged in with cached creds, the network icon at bottom has a spinning circle for a few seconds and then it connects to the wireless ssid. So the user is authenticating properly because it automatically connects once the user logs in and outlook connects to exchange properly. It almost seems like the wlan autoconfig doesn't start until after logged in windows.
This poses a problem with mapped network drives not showing unless manually mapped. Also windows will not create new user profiles from AD because there is no logon servers since its not trying to connect to wireless like its supposed to first.
Is there another service or dependency on the laptop itself that I should check? I'm fairly certain its setup correctly on server and network side since it works for majority of users.
I would really appreciate any input on this.
Also this is my first post on technet since I can usually find fixes on this site so I apologize if I'm using the wrong etiquette.
Thank you,
William
