Users keep disconnecting from network share - Windows 7, Windows Server 2008

Hello,

some stations are disconnecting from the network, and I have no idea why. One of the computers logs off every day, around 6-8 p.m. Other computers disconnects randomly. After disconnecting, it is not possible to connect again - we have to reboot the computer, and then it works. But it is very annoying, having to do this every day, and it is quite problematic when an user is using a file on the network, and then he/she is disconnected - it takes a long time for the file to be saved locally, for some reason.

I tried a clean install of Windows on one computer, but the problem continues.

I also tried going to Local Security Policy > Local Policy > Security Options > Microsoft network server: Amount of idle time required before suspending session and setting it to 99999 minutes, but it didn't work as well.

Is there an option where the computer logs off automatically after x hours of connection, or after x hours of inactivity, or something like that? Is that a problem on the computers (running Windows 7) or on the server (running Windows Server 2008)?

One of the stations is running Ubuntu 12.04 and it never got this issue so far.

Thank you in advance,

Leonardo
