Over the past six months I have been getting the following message at random when I try to log in to our Windows Server 2008 domain from my client workstation running Windows 7:
The security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust relationship
This error does not occur when I log on from a different Windows 7 or Windows XP client workstation.
What does this error message mean? There are about 10 different proposed solutions to fix this error, including leaving the domain then fiddling with AD settings and rebooting the server. None of these "solutions" are feasible for me as our server is for a large organisation, and I particularly don't want to have my client re-imaged with Windows until I can prevent this from happening in the future.
