Server is not configured as a valid nps server to connect to for this profile

Hi,

I'm trying to authenticate WiFi users through RADIUS (NPS) on Windows Server 2008 R2. When I connect and authenticate from a client computer through WiFi, I get the following error:

"Cannot complete connection attempt" (consider I'm translating from Italian).

Details:

"Server is not configured as a valid nps server to connect to for this profile."

I have the option to connect anyway, after then I can connect successfully. But I need to remove that error message.

Client is a workgroup machine, not joined to the domain. The certificate of the CA issuing the server certificate has already been imported in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store.

I've already imported the CA certificate in the NTAuth Store, as described here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2518158?wa=wsignin1.0

and with this operation I got rid of the error:

The server “<Authentication server>” presented a valid certificate issued by “<CA name>”, but “<CA name>” is not configured as a valid trust anchor for this profile.

But still have that error in subject.

Any Idea?

Thank you,

Simone Meggiato
